Firework

The last few months a song has exploded and become as many tell me the song of the year. It's firework by Katty Perry. If you haven't heard it you most likely lost your hearing in some sort of accident because it's everywhere. But if you are in the rare catigory of those with their hearing still intact and have not heard the song here it is.

Alright now that you've heard it you can continue reading. I was doing audio at FOX and we rolled to commercial. I pressed play on one of the five cd players to get some music to help keep the energy level of those on the floor crew at maximum. Because lets face it that early in the morning it's pretty much a floor crew made of Zombies. In fact the music might be the only thing keeping the zombie virus from overtaking their bodies and eventually the world. Your welcome.

So I played this song and everyone on the floor crew, anchors included started singing along and dancing. Why is this song so popular? What about it makes people feel so good they want to listen to it again? The message of the song is great, it's been heard and preached many times in various books, movies, and other songs so it's nothing new. A message that who ever you are, not matter what you like to do or what you love, that is what makes you special and you should make sure that is the you the world sees. What you have inside is beautiful so be the best you that you can be. Explode into the world and others will soon follow.

So what about the song? Again why is it so popular? I think it's because that message is one that is so important and crucial to our lives that we as human beings need to be reminded of it time and time again. To compare what you have inside to a firework is pure genius. I mean who doesn't like fireworks? Each one is different and unique, like us. When I watch a firework show I get lost in the pure awesomeness of it. I think about everything in my life and I think that is a pretty cool power fireworks have.

If like in the music video, when we did something worth the world taking notice of, explosives shot out of our chests...well I'm sure the military would be the first to try and use it to their advantage...but I think it would surprise us just how many fireworks go off from day to day, but still how many have yet to ignite. When your inspired by some act or someone in your life it's contagious. There's no stopping it, (much like the zombie virus if it ever gets out). So I guess this post is a challenge to myself and any others who read it. Go out and light up the sky, try and ignite every day and then watch as others around you do the same. Then just sit back and enjoy the greatest show on earth.
