In Feb, 2008 I wrote a blog about Valentines day and now two years later here is the follow up to it. As I read that post from two years ago I laughed at myself and how naive I was. I talked about how I was grateful not to be with anyone during the holiday. How wrong I was. Until this year it's never been a big deal to me. Valentines day was always just another day during the week, but this year all of that changed. How much sweeter life is when you have someone to share it with.
True to what I stated two years ago, I do buy Misty flowers just because it's a Tuesday and I try and let her know how much she means to me each and every day. Not just one day year. For this year it was a busy holiday weekend. Misty came down from school on Thursday. I was working a double shift so she came into work and brought me dinner. Which was delicious. I went home Friday morning and slept for a few hours and then woke up and spent the whole day with her. We celebrated V-day on Friday and after I got off Fox (which she came to and sat in new control to see all the behind the scenes) we went to Happy Sumo and got sushi. Misty took a risk and tried something new. She got Unagi which is fresh water eel. It was really good but we feel that it would be better without the cream cheese.
We spent the rest of the weekend doing homework and being with family. On Sunday we had a family party with her family and mine so Sunday was a busy day. Monday I had my job interview at 2:00 so we said our goodbye's around 1:00 because Misty was picking up Brenna at the airport and then they were headed back up to school. As for the interview I was offered the job but turned it down. It's not for me. Misty also took the Wii up to school so her and Brenna could play Toy Story Mania when they're done with homework. I love how much fun she has playing a video game. It makes me very happy to see some inner geek in her.
Thanks for the wonderful weekend Sweets.
Everything else is going good. School is keeping me busy and work is work. Tonight in my philosophy class we discussed Aristotle and his view on life. He was known for his Principle of the Mean or Hitting the Mark. Which basically says that in each of our lives we need to achieve Eudaimonia which in my own words is being fully awesome. Being well rounded and attempting to do the very best we can. As I self reflect and look at myself in the mirror I'm amazed at how lucky I am. I feel very blessed because of Misty and all that she does for me, to have the family I do and to be a part of the family I'm going to have in a few months. In short life is awesome.
